RE: To the non-Christian who wonders why the church is not doing their job

As a studied pastor, I was recently interviewed on the IRONWILL Report.

IRONWILL describes himself as a respectful atheist. I spoke to him about the church today making the exact SAME mistake it made before WW2, by NOT standing up against Hitler. The Western church today is not opposing the tyrannical governments - well 95% are not. There is a remnant.

When I made this statement to IRONWILL he said: "Yes! Why isn't the church standing up?"

💥 Serious question 💥Why does an atheist know what the job of the church is, but the church does not know what their job is? 🤔 There are numerous reasons which you can read about here:

The first main reason is that 95% the church believes lies, and/or cherry picks verses they like that validate their apathy or their excuses. The second is ignorance - simply not knowing or their pastor preaches garbage, and they just don't know any different.

Romans 13:1 was the most quoted verse in Germany prior to WW2. You can see proof in the sermons. Books have literally been written documenting this false narrative claiming ALL government is put in place by God. In HOSEA 8:4 we read "They have made kings, BUT NOT BY ME, they have made princes AND I KNEW THEM NOT...." The Bible here CLEARLY tells us that God has not put ALL tyrannical governments in place. Furthermore, Lamentations 3:35 says "They deprived the people of their GOD GIVEN RIGHTS, in defiance of the Most High." This verse lays out that human rights COME FROM GOD - not government. Second, this verse lays out that any government that mistreats the people IS IN DEFIANCE OF GOD HIMSELF! " Psalm 94:20 Psalm 125:3 Ephesians 5:11 Amos 6:6 Proverbs 24:12 are just some of numerous verses that command the church to step up. Revelations 2.

Great thoughts. Unfortunately, the deception often sounds far more pious and spiritual than the truth, because confronting reality is tough and gets our hands a bit dirty. So, people can be convinced they're making a Godly choice by staying aloof from all of this. It's sad to see.

"You drink wine by the bowlful, and fragrance yourselves with the latest perfumes, caring nothing that your nation is going to ruin."

Applying Old Testament "king" concepts to the US is problematic. For one, the US is not, and never has been, a "Christian" nation. It is a nation where Christians live, just like most other nations in the world.

As far as government being given by God - that is a question I often pose to people in the US - if so, how do you justify the ORIGIN of the US? It was a revolution against, again in the context the way Rom 13 is used, the God-given king.

That Revolution, BTW, is another indicator of the "Christian nature" of the US.

We have people who look at the current Republican leader as having been "given" to the nation by God. When I look at his behavior, listen to his language - I wonder who made the mistake: Those who refer to him as God-given, or God who gave that man. The answer is pretty obvious.

When non-Christians see how those proclaiming to be Christians accept and follow him, it is easy to understand why they are then confused about Christians...

The Revolution is a bit more complicated than that, I think. The doctrine of the lesser magistrates makes a good case that resistance and even revolution aren't inherently against God. And, as God drives the course of history, it's entirely possible He was using the US to discipline the Brits.

As for today, Trump has been placed by God, but so have Biden and Harris. No one comes to power apart from His will.

Hosea 8:4 Says "They have made kings, but not by Me, they have made princes and I knew them not ..."

This is clearly stating that ALL government is not put in place by God, as God Himself specifically states that humans (they) put these leaders in place.

The idea that ALL wicked tyrannical government is put in place by God is the very excuse used to justify not doing anything to oppose it - this false teaching also resulted in the German church doing nothing when Hitler murdered 6 million of His chosen people.

At the time of Ratification, 9 out of 13 states had established state-sponsored denominations. This continued into the 1800’s. Id say thats evidence it was founded as a Christian nation

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

💥Clearly the Founding Fathers founded America on Christians Principles💥 Furthermore:

"All 250 founding fathers were Christians but 12. Of 56 signers of our Declaration of Independence, 37 had the 18th century equivalent of seminary degrees."

Where you ARE correct is from the perspective that the Founding Fathers did not found America as a "Christian nation" per se. The very existence of the First Amendment gives people the ability to speak out against the idea of God if they choose!

The Founding Fathers admitted and understood the existence of Christian Principles and the critical importance of founding a nation on Christian (Bible) ideals and Principles, but they ensured this was VOLUNTARY. If America was founded specifically as a "Christian nation", then the ability of rejecting God would have been illegal - like in Islamic nations where it is illegal to reject their "god" alah (spelling purposeful) See Exodus 23:13.

Bringing Trump into the equation is a red herring. King David was God's Anointed and he did terrible things.

The fact that parents are not perfect, has no bearing whatsoever whether or not they are "God's Anointed parents".

I don't know if Trump has been raised up by God or not, but no wars during Trump, great economy, no promotion of pride agenda, and many other things make a strong case that he could be. Trump says "we worship God - not government"

“Having a form of godliness, but denying its power” comes to mind. What you’re referring to is what I’ve often called the “utility” of Christianity in maintaining a decent society. Such will always fall short for the individual certainly in matters of salvation…but…it’s better than unrestrained evil in the land and the open celebration of the destruction of Christian values. 🤷‍♂️

There's no sitting on the fence when it comes to salvation. Being a "good person" doesn't get you into heaven, which is probably what many cultural Christians believe. One of the most believed lies of the enemy.

Accepting the Lord Jesus Christ as your Saviour is the ONLY way, and delay is dangerous.

My assertion for decades has been, an atheist can be comfortable in a cultural undergirded with Biblical ethics and morality. Without them, the virtue-less atheism will foster untold chaos
