Also, David was not speaking out of personal anger - he was expressing by inspiration the perfect and righteous anger of God who does hate evil, and will in the end destroy those who do not find repentance and forgiveness.
Maybe I'm an outlier, but I see this a little differently. There are no people in this world that I would consider my enemy... that is, nobody I wish harm upon. Others may wish harm upon me, and so could be considered enemies, but the feeling isn't mutual.
My perspective is simple: my battle isn't against human enemies. While we are all both victim and perpetrator, we are also all targets for the love and grace of God. I want everyone to experience all of the blessings that God has for them... so they can't be MY enemies in any meaningful sense.
Keep up the fight Jack, there are few of us. God is love, but that is half the gospel. His justice is the other half.
Exo 34:6-7 (LEB) And Yahweh passed over before him, and he proclaimed, "Yahweh, Yahweh, God, who is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding with loyal love and faithfulness, 7 keeping loyal love to the thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and he does not leave utterly unpunished, punishing the guilt of fathers on sons and on sons of sons on third and fourth generations."
Wonderful article Mr. Jack… God is the same whether it be the Old Testament or New Testament. He always uses positive reinforcement AND negative reinforcement… 💖🙏🏽😳😳😳
I’m constantly telling my teens and adult children, “These people need to repent or God’s going to get them!” The devil doesn’t get you for lying, etc… God does… 🔥🔥🔥 I hope we all realize what the flame emoji represents in this case…
It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God…
Great article.
Thanks!
Great article! The distinction between MY enemies and GOD'S enemies is particularly helpful.

There’s plenty of evil out there to see! God will have his justice!
