I am reminded of the story of Ananias and Sapphira in Acts 5. The moral of their demise is their partial commitment to Yahweh. Is this not the role of ministry? To equip believers to total commitment? Churchianity is a compromised model filled with professional preachers whose livelihood depends on numbers. We rely on brands and doctorates for our legitimacy. Oh how far we have fallen! We would all take our last breath at the feet of Peter.
