You covered a lot of ground . Great thoughts, lots of courage and reminders make up this article. I appreciate how you teach what the biblical response should be to current issues.
The devil will use every opportunity to weaken the saints. He loves to see the fear provoking narratives we’ve witnessed cause Christians to falter and fall away.
Bravo, very well said! All the Covid nonsense was the Great Delusion sent by God to test the masses of the people. As to “But don’t you love your neighbor?”, it was a despicable use of the phrase. The scripture says 'the love of many will grow cold' and it did, especially among those who called themselves Christians to their shame.
I did not see through it from day 1 sadly (I was and still am struggling with my health) but by June 2020 I had the answers, for which I thank God eternally. I am slow but sure!
THANKS for writing this. It comes close to grasping (and expressing) the vehemence with which I stand on those matters. Let the glory go to God (as ALWAYS) - I am in the first camp you referenced.. I never believed a single bit of it. My dearly beloved is much like you, though; I don't judge him, you, or anyone else who couldn't see the truth (we live in "tricky" times). God bless you and yours.
Ugh. I remember morgue trucks and my healthy neighbor’s wife dying in ICU. I don’t think this is a loving approach. At. All. That first round of covid was a killer, not like the weakened strains now. You can be willing to sacrifice your family with all this huff and puff, but should it come down to it, I don’t think you’ll be so blustery. I don’t like what happened either, and I agree there was some over-reach. But I do think a lot of lives were saved, and I was most concerned about the elderly in our church, who were very vulnerable. Nor do I think it is the Christian perspective to fight the government. Biblical injunction to do so is absent, esp as we see the first Christians living under hostile occupation. Anyway I hope we won’t face another pandemic, maybe we agree on that.
In hindsight, who should we have been more concerned about - the elderly Christians would have gone straight into the Lord's presence should they have caught the sickness at worship, or the tens of thousands of Christians who have (perhaps permanently) drifted from the faith because we didn't meet?
My opinion is that they didn’t drift because we didn’t meet for a brief period of time, but because they did not value their church family and the faith that drew them there. Of course, I don’t know their hearts, but the fruit is on the tree. But the two are not equal. I honor our elderly believers and the valuable place they have in our lives of faith. Yes, it is blessed when a Believer dies in the Lord, but we don’t set up gas chambers to speed the process. I think we should be equally concerned for all. If someone got out of the habit of attending and never came back, I question their commitment. But I know prodigals can come home and I’m sure you are praying and working with them. I can see we are on different tracks here brother. I never thought I would face such a situation and hope we never do again. All we can do now is serve and love faithfully while we wait for the blessed return. Blessings to you.

I could not ask for a better illustration and encapsulation of everything I’ve been writing on this site this year.
This deserves a response article all its own, but not as a personal attack. It’s the idea I’m against.
The government and its officials lied through their back, front, any teeth you care to mention. Even the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic acknowledges serious problems and says for a start
"Members and staff have exposed high-level corruption in America’s public health system..."
Politicians were ruling the doctors. They had meds to fight Covid but they banned the use of them saying they didn’t work but that was a lie. Some doctors have said they saved all of their patients with these meds until they were banned. Think of the thousands of people who could have been saved, and locking the elderly away was wrong. The gov’t has no right to MAKE us take the vaccine or to prevent us from worship. Our congregation shut down I think for only 2 or 3 Sundays, maybe a month. Then I went back. Never again! I get the flu shot but I don’t think I’ll take another Covid shot. I agree with you, Jack.
I hope you never take any vaccine ever again, they are all harmful. Satan has been very clever persuading people to poison themselves as making out it is good for them.

Thanks for reading!

Been mulling over this.

And Covid was the 'flu rebranded, this was obvious to me by June 2020. The masses were scammed.

Rather like in the Garden of Eden.
