Restacked this. This needs to be heard by as many as possible.
I once heard a good lesson from Bill Stewart (Bear Valley School of Preaching) that dealt with this very topic. He said that we have so many wonderful scriptures saying that Christ has the victory over Satan, and that one part of that is his redemption of our bodies. Death was brought into the world through man's giving in to Satan's temptation---and so if left as is, death and decomposition is part of his (Satan's) victory. Jesus crushed all of the victory Satan has over creation, including the impermanence of our bodies.
When Jesus returns, he will take back that part of Satan's victory with the changing/redemption of those very human bodies. The ones that are dead will be raised and reformed as imperishable bodies and those still alive will be changed to the same.
I had never thought about it before, but it makes perfect sense when you think of Jesus being victorious in all ways over HIs creation.
