Where Things Stand
To the work
As of January 3, I will have completed 15 years in this ministry of writing, speaking, and podcasting at Focus Press.
It’s been an incredible ride thus far, with 12 books published, well over 500 articles written, 200+ podcast episodes, Gospel meetings in 12 states and 2 foreign countries, 3 website builds, and now 3 years and over 4,000 followers accumulated on Substack. God has blessed me greatly with the opportunity to do this work and meet so many wonderful people in the process.
Truth be told, though, it’s entirely possible that 2025 was my final year doing this work full-time.
That’s not a gimmicky fundraising ploy. I have job applications out in secular work and if the right one comes in, I’m going to have to take it. I’d love to raise enough funds to make this work self-sustaining regardless of whether Focus Press can continue to meet my salary, but I can’t guarantee that will happen.
Lord willing, I will always continue to write here at least weekly as it is my greatest passion, but the production elsewhere will certainly fall off should I have to change careers.
My work load for this year alone:
Over 150 articles, producing ~500,000 views
The writing and production of the 5-star rated You Are Saved: the Christian’s Assurance
The co-writing, editing, and production of 4 A Closer Walk with Thee 90-day devotional volumes
The re-release of J.W. McGarvey’s classic A Treatise on the Eldership
47 episodes of Think Deeper Podcast, with 46 accompanying Deep End exclusive episodes
A read-through and revision video series on Church Reset for the book’s 5 year anniversary
The public release of 22 Scriptural Focus Q&A videos
4 Cultural Breakdown episodes
Teaching series through Romans and now the Minor Prophets for Focus+
2 Gospel meetings along with dozens of other preaching and teaching sessions
Guest spots on video podcasts Godly Young Men, In Between Sundays, The Rasor’s Edge, and Cogitations
I have more big projects I hope to complete in 2026, including two new books, 4 more Closer Walk devotionals, a video/podcast series on Revelation, the long-awaited return of the Who Let the Dogma Out? theology podcast, and more. But, it’s all up in the air right now.

Money is tight, I certainly understand. If you can’t give but still want to support my work:
Share an article/episode on social media, or tell a friend or fellow church member
Pray for me and my co-laborers. It has been a stressful time as all of this has been hanging in the balance for some time now.
Subscribe on this site (jackwilkie.co/subscribe) and the Church Reset podcast feed (Apple, Spotify, or your favorite podcast app) so you can keep up with my work.
Join the new Facebook group that will be the community home for my readers and listeners.
There are few things I hate more than asking for money. If you feel moved to give, I appreciate it more than you know. More than anything, I’m just thankful to have gotten to do this work for 15 years, and one way or another I plan to be active in the church’s online community as long as I’m alive. If God provides the means to continue to do it full-time, I’ll be thrilled to keep going. If He wants me to explore another opportunity, then that’s what I’ll do.
In any case, I thank you for reading, for subscribing, for supporting, and I pray you have a blessed new year.
Grace and peace,
Jack
