Israel is our ally only because we supply them with weapons. They definitely have the right defend their earthly nation, but because of a shared belief with the Muslims, that Jesus is not the Messiah, the Son of God, God rejected them as his chosen people. Rome's leveling of Jerusalem sealed that. They put up with us because of the false teaching of the rapture, which states that Jesus is going to set up an earthly kingdom when he returns, something the Bible does not teach. Jesus even told Pilate that his kingdom is not of this world. Peter states the earth and all material things will be burned up when Christ returns. Israel also believes that the Messiah is yet to come. Many have been deceived and are going to be lost because of the false teaching the rapture and the premillennial doctrine.
Thanks for discussing this topic. I just listened to the Cruz/Carlson discussion this morning, so you're podcast was off great interest to me.
We are very involved in the governnance in our state and efforts to affect public policy for good, and the dispensationalist theology is something we hear a lot... and frustrates us how public policy is based on that erroneous doctrine.
You did a good job in a short time explaining some of the flaws and what the truth is about Israel.
We have noted, also, how Israel was told not to go ''to Egypt' for help. If modern Israel truly were God's chosen people, they wouldn't need nor should they seek the US's help.
I'm hopeful that the next generation of leadership will be free from the obligation to dispensationalism - either personally, or among their constituents and donors.
Great point about Egypt. Calling on the US for help is "putting their trust in princes."
