Here’s the first chapter in my upcoming book, You Are Saved: The Christian’s Assurance, along with a first look at the final front cover art!

“I just hope I’ve done enough.”
So many Christians live life with the weight of this thought hanging over their heads. It’s especially heartbreaking to hear it from elderly Christians who, despite spending a lifetime walking with the Lord, still have been led to believe they can’t be sure He approves of them or where they’ll wake up on the other side.
Of course, it’s not just the elderly who lack assurance. Many Christians go from day to day not quite sure where they would go if the unthinkable happened and they suddenly passed from this life. Some think their salvation works like a jacket that they take off any time they sin and put back on each time they ask for forgiveness.
“What if I’m in a fatal car accident and utter a curse word before I die and don’t have the chance to ask forgiveness for it?”
“What if there’s a sin I forgot to confess, and for which I never asked for forgiveness?”
“What if I’m wrong about something and don’t know it?”
These are real questions I’ve been asked, and just as with the Christian on her deathbed speaking as though her eternal destiny was a coin flip, I can’t help but be saddened that the version of Christianity these folks have been taught contains no grace and no assurance.
