Neither my husband or I were raised in the church. I was invited by a friend when I was in high school, and the rest is history. πππ½πβοΈπ
When I started dating my husband in college, he was definitely searching for something more than the denomination he had gone occasionally to as a child. Of course I invited him. The thing that was completely different that he had never seen before was that every one had a Bible and everyone seemed to know how to use it. The preacher asked everyone to turn to such and such in the Bibleβ¦ All of the college students had their Bibles and were using themβ¦ He was the only one on the pew that didnβt have a Bible. It was truly a lightbulb π‘ moment! π€ππ½ππ½ππ½

They had some research come out recently about screens in the classroom and how the kids are just not learning like they used toβ¦ test scores are falling rapidlyβ¦ Iβm wondering if this might be something similar on the learning side of thisβ¦ π€π€·π½ββοΈ
I think you're right about the effect of screens on learning and memorizing the scriptures. Finding a scripture in a fixed location in the printed Bible helps to fix it in our minds each time we read it.
They always do research on children, but what about us adults? π¬ It makes you wonder if weβre getting dumbed down as wellβ¦ Memory going to pot and suchβ¦ughβ¦ π΅
