In my experience, including serving three different congregations as a personal evangelist and two as an elder, many in leadership positions have no interest in leading the flock to be the salt of the earth. They actively do all they can to neutralize the effectiveness of the church to be a light in a world where sin brings more darkness each year. We have too many spiritual cowards leading the flock. Not to victory, but defeat.
