Some of "our Culture" has been marred by outside influences. Several decades ago, a congregation 'disfellowshipped' a member because of a lifestyle. This was taken to court, in the end, it was declared to have been an acceptable action, as part of the 'doctrine' of the church.

But it scared many congregations! Eventhough there was a "good outcome," which congregation can spend so much on legal fees (Which do not get reimbursed, no matter how right your were).

And then, ofcourse, we let ourselves get swayed by the normalization of same-sex relationships. "Wo are we to judge? That is God's job. Our job is to be loving and accepting... After all, we are all sinners!" Besides, how can we be right, with so many considering this normal?

We also have gottten more into man-made bible class materials which mostly ignore these kinds of issues. And wen is the last time YOU heard a lesson on Hell?? We want people to leave "uplifted..." and talking about a lost world? Now that is a downer!

Husband as the head of his wife? Society frowns upon that one, as well. Of course, men are nt fulfilling that job because a) it is not understood biblically, and b) who do you think YOU are...?
