Thank you for writing about this important topic. I am hoping you might consider discussing thr related issues of parents cutting off their kids, and siblings cutting off a brother or sister. The “parents cutting off their kids” issue is very prevalent as well, and has happened to some of my close family members. It can ruin a family and devastate the kids. I would love your perspective on it.
Thanks for writing about this Jack! This is a very significant problem today. I am still estranged from my daughter and her family .. 9 years almost now. I'm a preacher and every time I share it, people come and share their similar story. People are ashamed to share it openly because it sounds so terrible. Some people ask "what did you do"? which is normal response. It is a common topic on Substack. We live in a culture that almost encourages it -- and as you ask in this podcast, do modern counselors encourage this? It's a deep topic that needs to be discussed in our churches -- but often is not. Thank you for this discussion! Always appreciate your articles -- but especially this as it is very real to me.
