Thank you. Great advice! I agree, I’ve always questioned that “you” in many verses. Much of the Bible is a story and you need to read the stories and not hyper-focus on just a quote out of context.

Expanding the “Never Opens the Bible” aspect, those who read every commentator and their cousin from 700BC to today without taking God in consistent context from Genesis to Revelation.

Hi Jack, Is there really a bad Bible Study? Or just bad way ways to use God’s word to support your bad understanding?

I am part of a Bible Study group who reads studies by simply studying one book of the Bible, by reading one chapter at a time. Some weeks we only get through a few verses and the next week we may read a whole chapter. But the best part is that we come together as a group to hear and study God’s word.

I will take this point of view: Reading God’s word and praying over it opens the doors to God’s great power.

How can obedient works come from faith? What if we don’t try to obey His words, can faith come and grow? Hearing the word is also an obedient work, isn’t it?
